An update on me

Hi Everyone,

I feel embarrassed for even writing this blog but I think I have to do this as I have many people reading my blog.

So many things that have happened for the past two months, from traveling to moving apartments to getting married and so much more. Yes, I have to say that I should have given more time to blogging and vlogging, but I was too busy I even forgot about it.

Good thing is that I am back to my routine and although there are things happening here and there, I will definitely dedicate more time to blogging and making YouTube videos again.

Another note, I have signed up to run the half marathon in Sydney which will be on September the 17th. Because of lack of time to get a proper training I will not run a full marathon this time. But I feel good that I am going for a half marathon because I cannot handle the pressure of putting a 20 week trainings program into 8 weeks. No thanks, I am done with stress!

Anyways, talking about working out, I have been thinking about eating more healthy and changing some things about my eating habits. Today I started writing down the things I eat on a daily basis. I will be eating less meat and more vegetables and fish. Also, I have not been drinking any soft drinks since a week and I do not add any sugar to my tea or coffee for a while now.

I have been more aware recently about my lifestyle and I am ready to make big changes. But… big changes start with small steps 🙂

100 happy days

A little more than 3 months ago I started a challenge, the 100 happy days challenge.

AND yesterday was my last day of posting a picture of my 100 happy days (of course not the end of my happiness). The challenge was to post each day a picture, a happy moment as I call it. Even on my worst days I still had to “search” for a happy moment. That is the challenge, you can’t skip a day! I HAD TO POST IT.

The failing percentage for this challenge is a little bit more than 70%, and I wanted to know if I belong to this group or still finish it despite of the challenges that we face in our daily lives.

When I look back I must say that I am VERY PROUD of myself. My subconscious mind has probably changed as well because I reached and did some awesome things in the past 3 months.

  • Got a job which I REALLY needed because I had to save up some money for an amazing adventure. They even extended my contract twice, and yesterday was the third time (yeaaa, more money to save!)
  • Blessed with my supportive brother and sisters
  • Glad that my parents took good care of me when I was ill
  • Started exercising on a more regular basis
  • Run a PR for the 21.1 KM distance
  • Booked my ticket to my dream destination
  • Ran a marathon
  • Visited a new city, Copenhagen, Denmark
  • Got a spiritual healing
  • Turned 27 years young and accepted the getting “older” process
  • Accepted that people will find their own paths in life and say goodbye to you
  • Ate delicious food without feeling guilty
  • Started drinking more water
  • Started to make motivation videos
  • Started my own Facebook page Maanitalk
  • Gave away an amazing book to one of my followers
  • Started a blessing list (and I continue to add more things every day that I’m grateful for)
  • Did volunteer work
  • Met Nick Vujicic and took a selfie with him (haha)
  • Met new and amazing people
  • Had many many many cappuccino’s
  • Took some pretty nice selfies
  • AND MANY MORE HAPPINESS MOMENTS

To me, this challenge was about one simple fact… THERE IS ALWAYS SOMETHING TO BE HAPPY ABOUT. Very simple.

I encourage everybody to start this great challenge, and see for yourself what it will do to you and your life.

Let the HAPPY days continue, because life is great and God is good 🙂

Tips and tricks

My first day without cigarettes, man it is hard! I’m moving all the time and I cannot focus a 100% on one thing, I’m doing many things at the same time. Looking at my phone, blogging, writing my thesis, eating, thinking about running, thinking about when to book my tickets, where I should stay, who is passing me by now, what are people doing. ALL OF THIS at the same time in my head.

BUT until now I managed NOT to smoke, even though I want to run to the store now and by a new package.

So to keep my mind away from the cigarettes, I am now listening to some zen music.

I have read on the internet that eating bananas can help you stop quitting and also vegetables. They also recommend to not drinking coffee because it will give you the desire to smoke a cigarette as well. This is because smokers associated cigarettes with coffee. SO this morning I did not have coffee but a forest fruit tea. I also brought my vegetables with me to school. And one last thing is to drink lots of water so you will get the feeling of being full. Every time I think of a cigarette I take a sip of my water.

Last but not leasttttt is will power, I WANT TO QUIT PERIOD!

Mission failed

Hey everyone,

I had and still have a bad habit………. Smoking 😦 I tried to quite a few weeks ago but unfortunately I failed. I couldn’t resist anymore and started again. It is such a disappointment because I do feel that I inspire with my running lifestyle, and so I want to be a good example for people.

HOWEVER! I like to inspire people through my imperfection, showing that I am a human and I do have bad habits as well. That it is possible to change and that I am working on it. So there it is…. I failed in quitting but on the other hand an new chance has been created to stop. 

Anyways, looks like I’m trying to find some excuses to keep smoking, but no I’m not. I want to quit but it is harder than I thought. So I did some research on the internet on how to quite. I found a few good things that might work for me. Anywhoooooo I cannot promise you or myself that I will quit immediately, I do however, can say that I will definitely be smoke free at the end of June, or even sooner. Does that sounds like a good deadline? I think so. 

I started smoking when I was stressing out with some things (school and other stuff)… and now I have been feeling very guitly for even starting. I also have some troubles with breathing sometimes. That caught my attention, and I started reading stuff on the internet about smoking. I must admit I got scared. Next week Monday I have an appointment with the doctor and to be honest I am scared. Now that I’m writing this… lets put the deadline on next week Monday, the sooner the better.

So this is my weakness, and I’m a little bit embarrassed, but who cares. I think that if I am the person that inspires you, than you have the right to also know what my weakness is, just so you guys know that I’m not perfect. But I AM working on it.

My long distance run

As many of you have seen on my instagram, I had a long distance run of 23.10km yesterday.

It went well, however at the end I ran out of water and I had to go home because I was so thirsty, I also did not feel my legs because I was so tired. I got a little bit discouraged because I have my full marathon next week Sunday and I felt that I will not be able to do it. BUT I thought to myself if I can run 23km I should be able to finish the other 19km with ease and grace!

Many people around me don’t believe that I’m able to finish it (and maybe they are right), but what people say does not matter, the only thing that matters is what I think I’m able to do. And if I never thought I can run a full marathon, I would have never signed up for one in the first place. This is my passion and I will do it, even if it means crawling to the finish line, I will do it!

So before I went out and hit the road I had another great energy smoothie.

ingredients:

  • 1 banana
  • 2 slices of pineapple
  • 2 dl yogurt
  • 1 tsp of honey
